Dear Students,

ASIC would like to call your attention to the following:
·       AGORA
·       Lost and Found
·       Vacuum Cleaner Service

·       AGORA
On Wednesday 1 October, ASIC will hold its first Agora in the Auditorium at 20.00. This is an opportunity for students to come, hear about the annual projects of ASIC, listen to the priorities of the Dean, Managing Director, and the Student Life Officer, and most importantly, give feedback. This event is held so the students can speak their opinions and be involved in the progression our University is going through. Topics include the creation of more lounge areas on campus, concrete community service opportunity, and much more.

·       Lost and Found
Attention! Lost and found has been moved to the ASIC office. If you find anything please do not bring it to College Hall or to the UCSA office. Bring it to us during our lunch or dinner office hours. If you are looking for something lost, please stop by.

·       Vacuum Cleaner Service
ASIC has recently bought a new vacuum cleaner for the rental service. There are now two available, and therefore, twice the chance that one will be waiting for you.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or need some help, drop by during office hours, daily afternoons from 12:00 to 13:30 and evenings from 17:30 to 19:00.

Kind regards,

ASIC

Dear Students,

ASIC would like to call your attention to the following:
• Opening of the Academic Year
• ASIC Reading Tables
• Open meeting Environmental Working Group
• Services update

• Opening of the Academic year
On Friday the 19th September at 13h30, Rob van der Vaart, our very own new Dean, will ceremoniously open UC’s eleventh Academic year. There will be a formal convocation in the auditorium organized by the Lustrum committee in association with PoliticsCo. The Convocation will feature a sketch of Rob’s vision for the future of college. Furthermore, we will be honored by the presence of the mayor of Utrecht who will give his view on the role which UCU should and could play within the larger Utrecht community. Students can sign up by sending an email to UCSA.PoliticsCo@uu.nl

• ASIC Reading Tables
You may or may not have noticed them, but since last Thursday they have been there: three lovely black IKEA-tables decorated with ASIC logos and literatures of all sorts. The Reading Tables are the first of hopefully many future projects to make Dining Hall a nicer place to sit and enjoy our food. In addition to weekly high-quality magazines (such as Time, Science, Newsweek, Elsevier, L’Express, etc.), the Wall Street Journal and most probably De Pers will be made available daily from lunch onwards. You can find the reading tables on the far right side of Dining Hall.
As mentioned above, this is an initiative to enhance the Dining Hall experience. If you or your friends have a good idea to make Dining just that much better for us all, don’t hesitate contact us via mail or drop by during Office hours, or join the Food Advisory Group!

• Open Environmental Working Group meeting
Feel green? Want to upgrade campus to a more environmentally friendly place? Then the EWG is the group to join for you. The first EWG meeting will be open to everyone, so you don’t immediately have to sign up. The meeting will take place coming Thursday at 19h15 in the ASIC office.

• ASIC services update
Due to immense popularity of the new and improved ASICles, we have decided to shorten the time frame in which you can borrow an ASICle from 48 to 24 hours. Hopefully this way will be able rent more people some wheels. Come and pick ‘em up during office hours or whenever an ASIC member occupies our office. Don’t forget to bring along an ID-card and a 5 euro (refundable) deposit!
We have invested in two new bike pumps and fixed another, one of which can at all times be found in the UCSA office. Besides all this, we also still rent out our Asuc (vacuum cleaner) and ASIbakes (ovens) free of charge. Don’t you love us?

If you have any comments, suggestions, or need some help, drop by during office hours, daily afternoons from 12:00 to 13:30 and evenings from 17:30 to 19:00. And don’t forget to check out our website www.ucstudents.nl for practical info, interactive polling and the weekly Dining Hall menu.

Kind regards,

ASIC
