•        Meditation Room Open to All
The moment you have been all been waiting for has finally arived, the time has come for you to get your peace and quiet during these busy weeks. From today onwards everyone should be able to access the meditation room with their own XScard between 08h00 and 22h00. Looking to pray, meditate or practice mindfulness outside these hours? Come by the ASIC office to check out a key for 24 hour access. Remember the Meditation is for all, so be nice,  and respect each others space!

•        AGORA Aftermath
Last Monday, ASIC hosted this years’ second AGORA. The topics up for discussion were:
1. Making a research thesis (301) mandatory, thereby eliminating the possibility to do an internship instead;
2. How do we improve the flow of information concerning master’s program to  UC students?
3. ASIC’s budget proposal
Weren’t able to make it? Or do you simply want to look back at what has been said? Take a look at the minutes which you can find in the attachment of the email ASIC sent out. ASIC’s budget is also attached to that email.

•        Community Service: Anglia Project
Looking for a sense of fulfillment? Willing to give back to the local community? Volunteer to teach English at local Dutch high schools! We are looking for motivated students who can help out needy 12 to 16 year old Dutch VMBO (Vocational school) students. Speaking Dutch is not required! You will be trained and provided with a professionalized course manual. And don’t worry, you’ll be teaching no more than 5 students at a time. Interested? Contact the community service team at ‘volunteer.ucu@gmail.com’.  

•        Course Evaluations
The end-of-semester course evaluations are open again! Your feedback is of great importance in changing courses that are not working well (enough) as well as in rewarding those teachers you love, so please take the time to fill in the short surveys during the following weeks! Go to https://wwwsec.cs.uu.nl/education/evaluation , log in with your student ID, and click on “fill in questionnaire” to get started. It’s that easy! If you, however, encounter any problems in logging in, please contact Lieke Schreel (l.a.j.m.schreel@uu.nl) and she will help you out.
Lastly, we’d like to stress that if you have any comments, suggestions, or need some help, drop by during office hours, daily afternoons from 12:00 to 13:30 and evenings from 17:30 to 19:00, or simply send us an email (asic@uu.nl)! Also, don’t forget to check out our website www.ucstudents.nl for practical info, interactive polling and the weekly Dining Hall menu.
