Dear students,

A few days ago the College Administration informed us of a timeslot change concerning the Wednesday classes, taking effect next Fall semester. Concretely, the timeslots currently taught at 10:00 and 13:00 will be rescheduled to 8:45 and 11:00. The main reason for this change as put forward by College Hall is to allow for excursions on Wednesday afternoons. This decision was taken many months ago without consulting ASIC, the College Council or any other student representative organ for that matter. According to College Hall, it will be extremely difficult to reverse this decision for the coming semester, as teachers have already been booked for these timeslots. The College administration has already apologized to us with regards to the lack of communication; however this does not change the current situation.

As ASIC, we are appalled by being bypassed on this important decision that affects not only the academic life of all UC students, but also our social life to a very large extent. The students’ opinion in this matter has been completely neglected. Despite the fact that this travesty has occurred, we now need to move forward and try to change what can be changed. ASIC wants to take a stand on this issue but we need your opinion in order to be effective. What do you think? Do you think the timeslot change is okay, or do you believe in the status quo or do you believe another solution ought to be sought (e.g. having classes from 13.45 to 18.00 to allow for excursions in the morning hours)?

Fill in the petition at the entrance of Dining Hall and vote at www.ucstudents.nl.
With sincere concern,
ASIC

If UC is timeslot change, ASIC wants to know about it. Sorry, we could not have you covered.
