Dear students, The moment you have all been waiting for has finally arrived: the ASIC-Booksales Website is up and running! In this very special ASIC Informs you will find all the directions you need to order books through ASIC. Website Logging in To order your books online, first go to our special booksales website http://booksales.ucstudents.nl/. After checking the database and the size of said database, we have decided to reset all accounts. This was done to make sure the number of problems with new registrations would be kept to a bare minimum, as every year there seem to be problems with accounts not working because of the mailbox number being the same as that of another (ex)student still registered on the website. In practice, this means you will all have to create a new user account and use your correct mailbox number to do so, an inconvenience we apologize for. On the upside, this will mean less work for all of us at ASIC, and in the long run hopefully smoother booksales. After you’ve created a personal account, you can login by entering your username and password, then clicking ‘this link’ in red. If you still have any troubles with registering or logging in, please let us know, since our Secretary will most probably be able to fix it for you. How to order books on the website After a successful login, you can press ‘browse’ on the left to browse for books, both secondhand and new ones. Click on the courses you need books for, select the books you want to purchase, and click ‘purchase’. The books will then be added to your basket. When you’re done browsing, you can go to your customer basket by clicking ‘my orders’. Once you click ‘check out’, you’ll be asked to specify a method of payment. When you have paid for your books, they will be delivered to your mailbox within a few days (depending on the method of payment and your bank account). Paying online for your books You can pay for your books in three ways. Firstly, through bank account transfer: From within The Netherlands: All Students Interest Council, Utrecht Bank Account Number: 140088008Mentioning “ASIC Book Sale”, and your name, and student numberFrom outside The Netherlands:All Students Interest Council, Utrecht: The NetherlandsBank: RabobankAccount Number: 140088008IBAN: NL07RABO0140088008BIC: RABONL2UMentioning “ASIC Book Sale”, and your name, and student number

Booksales in Dining Hall Besides processing your online orders, we also open our doors for a number of hours to make sure all of you who dislike the web also have a chance to buy your books. Be sure to bring all your chairs, couches, fatboys and other comfy seats you might have, and just sit back and enjoy the screening and popcorn, provided by ASIC. Dear students,
First of all, a very warm welcome (back) to all of you! For those of you that don’t know us by now, we are the All Students Interest Council. We are a student organization primed at furthering the interests of ALL students, and our main concern is improving campus life for all of us. This entails multiple things, most noticeable of these being at the moment.
- Booksales
- Yard Sale
- Movie Night
ASIC Booksales:
Attached to this e-mail, you will find a finalized version of this semester’s booklist. It is in this list that you can look up which books you’ll be needing for all of your courses. We are happy to inform you that this year we managed to reinstate the image of ASIC as the cheapest book supplier available to UC students. Besides our wide variety of books, covering all but two courses, our bookprices are the cheapest in over 95% of the cases, and we are still striving to make that a 100%. Before you order your books, which can be done from next Tuesday onwards and should of course be done online, please check to make sure you know which books to get for your courses. Instructions on how to order your books online will be send to you shortly.
ASIC Yard Sale:
Last year we received an astonishing amount of furniture from students leaving UC. Now we hope to find new owners for these pieces of furniture during the yard sale. So, does your room still look empty or are you in desperate need of a chair or couch? Drop by this Friday at 2 PM in between Locke and Newton and buy that long desired addition to your room. Not only will you be improving the appeal of your room, but since all profits go to the student fund, you will also help accommodate for prospective students in need.
ASIC Movie Night:
The ASIC movie nights have been a long standing tradition on this campus and we are proud to present a new and improved version of it this Friday. We will be projecting the movie outside on a large screen, and obviously pop-corn will be provided. So bring your couches, chairs and fat-boys, and come watch the movie.
We hope you all have a great introweek!
Kind regards,
ASIC 09-10
