The UCU Community Service Team tries to provide UC students with an overview of all possible volunteer projects in utrecht. This overview is not only for those who are interested in helping out the people who are less lucky than us, but also in order for us UC students to eliminate our reputation of being locked behing the gates by actually do something back for the community we are living in.

Culture & Fun at Refugee Center Various activities with the purpose of giving kids waiting to be accepted into the country something productive to do, whenever you want, (no Dutch required). |
Old People and Parks… Taking them out for a walk, visiting them/working at the retirement home, taking care of their pets, whenever you want, (preferably Dutch). |
Anglia Centraal College Teaching English to Dutch VMBO students (no dutch required), starts after fall break, regular. |
Animal Day Fundraising Getting out there on the streets with that collecting box for the Dierenbescherming (animal protection), 14th of October (noDutch required). |
Cultural Sundays Giving directions, helping behind a bar, setting up stages, in exchange for exclusive experience (tickets and such) to Utrecht’s leading cultural event, 17th of October next (no Dutch required). |

Tilvi Reading Project Reading books to 6 year old kids in kanaleneiland (Dutch required), starts 16th of October. |
Soup Kitchen Cooking, eating, serving, cleaning at the Smulkeuken (soup kitchen) in town, firm personality and preferably some Dutch required, regular. Be prepared for junkies! |
Anglia other activities Teaching, taking tests, speaking (noDutch required). One-time events, dates to be announced. |
Animal Care at Kiddy Farms Taking care of animals at various local public farms for kids, regular. |
Books 4 Life Helping out in a book store selling second hand books for Oxfam Novib, regular (Dutch required). |

Diedom Circus Classes Providing an extra hand at circus classes for kids: physical, fun and fantastic, semi regular (preferably Dutch). |
Conversation madness Speaking Dutch, English, French or German with someone who can’t afford to take classes, semi-regular. |
Amnesty / Greenpeace Student ProjectsInterested in perhaps setting up awareness events or participating in demonstrations locally? Join the student group. |
There are different categories of community service: Kids, Medical, Language, Animals, Charity. Charity means helping out organizations such as Amnesty and Oxfam Novib with demonstrations or simply raising awareness.
Within the categories there are many other vacancies, for example, a different form of medical volunteering (e.g. hospital work). So if you feel that we left some awesome possibility out, let us know! We can find you anything: Utrecht is always looking for volunteers!
