The Cultural Cookery

Project
For three weeks University College Utrecht students, together with local cooks, will be running a temporary yet professional restaurant: The Cultural Cookery. The profit made will be donated to three development-projects in India, Sudan and Uganda. Furthermore, the restaurant aims adding to the Utrecht community spirit, by bringing the people Utrecht together for an evening of good food, cultural performances and stimulating discussions.
The concept, a temporary restaurant that raises money for charity, stems from the umbrella organisation Happietaria. Since 1993 this organisation has worked in concert with students in order to support structural projects in the developing world. Moreover the various different development organisations (or would NGOs be better?) will double our profit, meaning that your money will arrive twofold in the slums of Calcutta, healthcare in Darfur, or classrooms in Uganda.
Visit our booth at the Festival and taste some dishes that our cooks will be testing out for the restaurant. If you are interested in visiting the restaurant, stop by and make reservations or visit our website for more information: www.theculturalcookery.nl

Profile
The restaurant will be open from 20 May until 6 June this Spring. In addition to guests, we are also looking for students to help serve, cook, clean, and entertain. Are you interested in helping us out and raising money for development projects? Visit our booth or contact us with the email address found on our website. Can’t wait to see you there.
