The project
This project is meant for foreign speaking women living in the Netherlands, wanting to improve their knowledge of the Dutch language. In order to do so they are looking for Dutch-speaking volunteers (preferably female) who are willing to teach them on regularly times. The goal of the project is to increase the independence and participation of the women, and often you will simply talk with them or do some activities to introduce them to the Dutch way of living.

What you will do
If you are interested in other cultures, have some social skills and interests and are looking for a nice way to contribute to the well-being of others, then this is the project you’ve been looking for!
For one year you, alone or together with someone else, will be connected to a foreign language speaking woman and the two of you will meet up for one or two hours per week for at least 25 times. If you work together with someone else this will add up to about once/every other week for two semesters.
Depending on what the woman herself wants, you can really teach her Dutch –Humanitas will provide a training at the beginning and will also give you some material to work with, or you can take her to for example the library, a museum or the stores at Hoog Catherijne.
