Becoming a member of ASIC

ASIC members are elected on a yearly basis. The elections are normally held somewhere in the beginning of April. The newly elected members start their functions officially the following academic year. Thus a board-year runs from August to August the following year. As an ASIC member you have the right to a reduced course load, dropping a maximum of 2 courses in each of the 2 semesters that you function as an ASIC member (50%). This does mean that you will have to stay 1 extra semester on campus so as to reach your requirement of 24 completed courses.

As an ASIC member you do get a, small, financial compensation for your work but this by no means comes close to a salary.

If you feel like being active with ASIC but not in an official position then there is plenty of opportunities for you as well, such as joining one of our ASIC Groups (for an overview click here), or becoming a student representative, (for an overview click here).

We are also always interested in feed-back and input from you. So if you have any questions or comments please send them to ASIC, and if you have a great idea and want to work it out then maybe ASIC can be of support to you.
