The prices of student rooms in Dutch cities have become a topic of debate over the last years. More and more municipalities are investigating the rental prices. ASIC has been taking a look at the housing costs on campus, and has found that rental prices are probably significantly higher than they are supposed to be. We understand that living on a green campus like ours rather than an average street in Utrecht brings additional costs, but still we believe that the prices can be reduced. In this case ASIC seeks for close cooperation with USF (Union of Utrecht Student Groups) and the so-called Municipal “Rental Team” (Huurteam).
