Living Off-campus

The administration is looking in possible ways to increase the maximum amount of students on UC, to improve the cost-effectiveness. An obvious constraint for growth is the restricted amount of housing available on the campus. Plans to look into possibly increasing the amount of housing are already underway, but in the mean time other solutions are being sought

One of these solutions is giving students the possibility to live off-campus in their third year. Several concerns are attached to allowing this though: will it not aversely affect the campus community, will students remain as dedicated to their schoolwork as they are now, etc. In order to see if this is the case or not, first a pilot will be launched. This pilot will allow 25 students to live off-campus next year, perhaps already next semester

If you want to participate in the pilot you will have to let ASIC know, who will forward your information to the administration. Again, this is only for third year students. Furthermore, there are some conditions: you will have to sign an agreement that you will not return to campus a few months before the end of the semester, so that the administration can give your room to a first-year, you cannot be on social or academic probation, and besides room and board, all other obligations to the college will remain the same.
