Previously, at the end of each year there was a lot of furniture being thrown out by students who were moving out, graduating or hand limited storage space over the summer. This year ASIC decided to do something about this issue and to try and recycle all these goods for a humanitarian purpose.

At the end of the summer we asked students to bring the furniture they didn’t need any more to a storage area and, at the beginning of the fall semester, we organized ASIC Yard Sale by auctioning items to the remaining student community. The whole project was a major success as it not only allowed us to be more environmentally friendly but also help students buy cheap furniture and gather over 2000€ from sales for the Scholarship Fund.

As this year was the first time we organized this event, things might have gotten a bit chaotic at points, but we have gathered a lot of experience from it and we are looking forward to improving it and offering you an even better ASIC Yard Sale in the future!
