The Food Advisory Group is a working group under ASIC that deals with all Dining Hall related issues. These may range from the queue problems to the quality of the meals to the dining atmosphere. Furthermore, the food advisory group organizes Dining Hall tours for students who wish to take a closer look behind the scenes of DH, and holds Questionnaires to poll for student opinions on up-to-date DH issues. The F.A.G. has monthly meetings which take place every first Wednesday of the month at 11:00 in the ASIC office. The meetings are chaired by ASIC’s Executive Officer, who also takes the minutes.
The food advisory group does not have a budget and is only entitled to give ‘advice’ (hence the name). However, to make the food advisory group more recognized and more formal, a food advisory group Statute has been constituted, and was agreed upon by all members on the 12th of March 2008. The statute will serve as a formal guideline for all future members of the F.A.G. To read the statute, please click here.
Last but not least, we encourage students to send in recipes, as against common belief - they are taken into account by Dining Hall. We are proud to announce that in the summer menu that we currently have, there is one recipe that was submitted by a student. Look out for the chickpeas ;).
On the current agenda:
- Reading corner in DH
- Results DH questionnaire
- Acquiring detailed DH budget from College Hall
