The Humanities Department Student Assistants are appointed by the Head of the Humanities Department, and are meant to aid the HoD in promoting the Humanities among the student population. Students interested in becoming assistants will contact HoD Orlanda Lie, who then meets with them and explains what the position entails.

The student assistants serve as the HoD’s link to the student population; providing feed-back on courses and tracks within the Humanities to the HoD, and simultaneously being available to students for any enquiries or problems they have regarding the Humanities Department. From fall 2007 the students assistants have weekly office hours in Voltaire to be more easily accessible to the student population.

The student assistants also help the HoD to arrange regular events, such as the Humanities Dinners and the annual Humanities High Tea. They can also take initiative for events themselves, such as the ‘UC goes …’-projects or other desired events.
